| Columbia Hosts Central Regional Senior League Tournament Aug. 8-11 |
Columbia will play host to the Central Regional Senior League Tournament August 8-11, 2010. Games will be played at both Rockbridge & Hickman High School. There will be ten different state championship teams from Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, as well as a Columbia 'host' team. The winner will advance to the Senior League World Series in Bangor, Maine.
Opening Ceremonies will take place Sunday, August 8 at the Host Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott, featuring MU Baseball Coach Tim Jamieson as the guest speaker MC Gary Link.
If there are any DBLL family members that can volunteer their time to work the concession stands during this tournament it would be greatly appreciated. You can contact Rosalie McDonald at 446-1979 for more information or to sign up.

| DBLL Hosts 11/12 Baseball and Softball State Tournaments |
The 2010 11/12 year old state baseball and softball tournaments will be played at Daniel Boone Little League.
The baseball tournament will start on Friday, July 23 with the championship game played on Monday July 26 at 6 p.m.
The softball tournament will start on Sunday, July 25 with the championship game played on Wednesday July 28 at 7 p.m.

| Daniel Boone Teams Win District Baseball Tournaments |
| Congratulations to the DBLL Junior, DBLL American 11/12, DBLL American 11 and DBLL National 9/10 teams who all won District 4 titles this week. Good luck at state! |

| District All-Star Tournaments at DBLL |
Several district all star tournaments begin play this week at DBLL.
The Softball Minor (9/10) district tournament will be played on July 14, 15 and 17. All games start at 7 pm.
The Baseball Minors (9/10), Majors (11), Majors (11/12) and Juniors (13/14) tournaments will all be played between July 17 - 21.

| 9-10 year old DBLL American All Star team takes District 4 softball title |
The 9-10 year old softball All Stars from Columbia completed their district play after games on Wednesday and Thursday on their home field. The American All Stars beat the National All Stars to advance to play in the 9-10 year old state softball tournament next weekend. Both teams made some great defensive plays and the games were close until the American All Stars were able to pull out the victories in the late innings.
Congratulations to both teams for their outstanding All Star play.

| New 50/70 Majors Baseball League this Fall |
Baseball players who will be 12, 13 or 14 years old by April 30, 2011 are eligible to play in a new 50/70 league this fall. This is a transitional league for players who have played at least one year in the Majors at the 46/60 field dimensions under regular Little League rules. The pitching distance is 50 feet and the base paths are set at 70 feet in this league. Regular baseball rules will be observed which allow for lead offs, dropped third strikes and balks.

| 2010 Fall Baseball and Softball Leagues |
Registrations are now being accepted for the 2010 Daniel Boone Little League Fall Baseball and Softball Season.

Leagues being offered this fall include:
Baseball
Bantam-coach pitch (7-8), Minors (9-10), Majors 46/60 (10-12) and Majors 50/70 (12-14)
Use the age your child will be on April 30, 2011 to select your league.
NOTE: Players who will be 10 have the option to try-out for a majors team. If they are not drafted by a majors team they will be drafted by a minors team.
Players who are 12 have the option to try-out for a 50/70 team. If they are not drafted by a 50/70 team they will be drafted by a majors team.

Softball Recreational League
Bantams (7-8), Minors (9-10), Majors (11-12) Use the age your child will be on December 31, 2010 to select your league.
A player evaluation for the minor and major softball leagues will be held on Saturday, August 7 starting at 9 a.m. on F1 at DBLL. There is no evaluation for the bantam league.

Baseball and Softball Cost
- The registration fee for all leagues in both baseball and softball is $60 per player.
- Families that register 3 or more players may deduct $5 per player.
- The registration deadline is August 7.
- A $5 credit card processing fee will be added to any registration when a credit card is used for payment.
- A $10 late fee will apply to registrations received after August 7.
Parents are not asked to participate in fundraising or concession duty during the fall season. The concession stands will be open and staffed by paid youth.
Baseball Schedule
All Baseball leagues will play a 6 week 12 game double header schedule. Bantam games will be limited to 1 hour per game with the first game starting at 5:45 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m.
Minors and Majors games will start at 5:45 p.m and 7:15 p.m. No inning will begin after 1 hour 10 minutes have been played.
Once an inning has started it will continue until the home half of the inning has concluded.
Games begin August 23. Baseball Bantams (7/8) will play on Mondays, Baseball Minors (9/10) on Mondays and Wednesdays, Baseball 10-12 Majors (46/60) on Tuesdays and Baseball 12-14 Majors (50/70) on Thursdays and Fridays.
Softball Schedule
All softball teams will play a 5 week 10 game schedule. Games will start at 5:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. No inning will begin after 1 hour 10 minutes have been played. Once an inning has started it will continue until the home half of the inning has concluded.
Games begin August 23. Softball Bantams will play on Thursdays. Softball Minors will play on Mondays with the possiblity of Wednesday/Thursday games. Softball Majors will play on Tuesdays with the possibility of Wednesday/Thursday games. Game nights will be dependent on the number of teams in each league.
Baseball Bantam, Minors and Majors 46/60 Team Formation
Bantam (7-8) league coaches may pre-select their entire roster. Please submit your roster to the Eric by August 7.
Coaches in the Minors (9-10) and Majors 10-12 (46/60) leagues may pre-select up to 5 players (includes the head coach's child). Parents of pre-selected players are required to confirm their approval of the selection by sending a confirmation e-mail to the league coordinator at fallball@danielboonell.org.
Minor league players who are not pre-selected must participate in a skills evaluation on Saturday, August 7 starting at 9 a.m. on F6 at DBLL. The evaluation for the Major 46/60 league players who are not pre-selected will start at 9 a.m. on F3 on August 7.
Evaluated players will be placed onto teams through a draft which will immediately follow the evaluation. Players who skip the evaluation day or register late will be placed onto teams via a blind draft.
Only those players whose names are submitted by a coach to the league coordinator will be considered pre-selected. Requests to play for a specific coach will not be honored.
Baseball Majors 50/70 Team Formation
Teams in the 50/70 league will be formed via a draft. A head coach may identify one assistant coach prior to the draft . The sons of the head and assistant coaches are the only players considered pre-selected in this league.
All players, other than the coaches sons, must participate in a skills evaluation on Saturday, August 7 starting at 9 a.m. on F3 at DBLL.
Evaluated players will be placed onto teams through a draft which will immediately follow the evaluation. Players who skip the evaluation day or register late will be placed onto teams via a blind draft. Requests to play for a specific coach will not be honored.

Baseball League Rules
Spring rules for each league will be used. This includes the pitch count rules for baseball minors, majors and 50/70.
The home team will be responsible for keeping the scorebook and the visiting team the pitch count sheet.
The visiting team in the late games will be responsible for turning the field lights off prior to leaving the park.
The official game time will be announced immediately following the first pitch.
