All Star Information

All Star Tournament and Dates

The Little League International Tournament is the most widely known youth sports tournament in the world. There are six levels of tournament play in Little League Baseball® and five within Little League Softball®, with opportunities for players ages 8 to 16. The tournaments start at the District level, and teams must win their way to advance through the International Tournament. The 8- to 10-Year-Old and 9- to 11-Year-Old Tournaments culminate at the State Level, while the Little League, Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball, Junior League, and Senior League divisions all conclude at a World Series Tournament.

The Daniel Boone Little League Board of Directors is responsible for tournament team selections as well as method used to make selections. Tournament team candidates should be selected based upon their playing ability, eligibility, and availability.

On this page, we aim to share the essential information you need to know about the tournament, aka All Stars. However, be advised that Little League International is the definitive source for eligibility and rule information. To find the latest information, visit Little League Tournament Resources page. ELIGIBILITY

Players league-age 8-to-16 are eligible for selection to an International Tournament team provided they meet the criteria established by the Little League® Residency or School Attendance Player Eligibility Requirement and “Player Participation In Other Programs.” Players must have participated during the Little League regular season to be eligible for selection to that season’s baseball or softball tournament teams. Read more about eligibility requirements

Baseball or softball players league-age 9-to-16 are eligible for selection to multiple tournament teams, however, may only participate on one tournament team. Under no circumstances may players be chosen for, practice with, or participate with more than one tournament team. A player may be named to the roster of, and practice with, only ONE Little League International Tournament Team.

Players must fill out a Tournament player verification form.

SELECTION PROCESS

This process applies to all divisions of Baseball and Softball except where specific notes for a division are identified.

Letters of Intent (Players and Managers)

As player and manager eligibility is in part determined by availability, we ask that both players and coaches fill out an intent form that signals their willingness to participate in All Stars. This will allow the DBLL board to know who would like to be considered to coach and play on a tournament team. The completion of these forms does not guarantee a spot on a team. Tournament teams will not be announced prior to June 1.

April 2022 – Letters of Intent forms for Players and Managers are distributed.

Any player opting to not be selected according to the submitted Letter of Intent at any time after this date will have his/her Letter of Intent withdrawn and will not be eligible for consideration to be selected to a tournament team.

What is All Stars? Annually, DBLL forms Tournament Teams to represent the league in the Missouri District tournaments, State tournaments, Central Regional tournaments, and the Little League World Series tournaments. Selection to a DBLL 2022 Tournament Team is an honor that entails certain responsibilities, obligations, and expectations for players and their families for as long as the tournament team is active in the 2022 Little League Tournament play.

Who can participate in All Stars? Players league-age 8-to-16 are eligible for selection to a Tournament Team provided they meet the criteria established by the Little League Residency or School Attendance Player Eligibility Requirement. How much does it cost to participate in All Stars? Costs to participate on a Tournament Team vary, but parents could expect to pay up to $50.00. DBLL will contribute to each team to help offset costs. Sponsors and fundraising efforts typically finance the balance of costs related to equipment, uniforms, and team fees. Additional costs related to travel expenses may be incurred depending on tournament location. Each player is expected to participate in fundraising activities as applicable.

What type of commitment is there to participate in All Stars? If selected, a player is expected to participate fully by attending scheduled practices and games for as long as the 2022 Tournament Team remains active in sanctioned Little League tournament play at the District, State, Regional or World Series level. Tournament games typically begin in early July and can extend into August if a team makes it to the World Series level. If a selected player is judged by their Tournament Team Manager to be excessively absent from practices or games or to be unfit due to misconduct or inappropriate behavior on or off the field he/she may be subjected to removal from the team.

Can my child play on more than one All Star team? Baseball or softball players league-age 9-to-16 may be eligible for selection to multiple tournament teams, however, may only participate on one tournament team. Under no circumstances may players be chosen for, practice with, or participate with more than one tournament team. A player may be named to the roster of, and practice with, only ONE Little League International Tournament Team.

What is “league age”? Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® Age Charts. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play this season. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child as of August 31 of the current year. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child as of January 1 of the current year. See the Little League Age Charts below.
